During the course of the week, the complete beginner to sailing will be shown how to tie knots correctly as well as general rope handling, how to steer a boat under both sail and power, how to handle the sails, mooring and anchoring, basic navigation and all the other sailing functions which lead to gaining the Yacht Crew Certificate (non-tidal).
Those with prior dinghy/yacht/boating experience will be taught how to develop their skills, with more advanced techniques, to gain (depending on the individuals ability) the Yacht Skipper Certificate (non-tidal) and covering the requirements for taking the ICC test.
Living Ashore If you are a little unsure if a week or two on the water is for you then live ashore is the option. An experienced skipper will teach you all you need to know up to a Level Two Keelboat Certification on a day basis, while at night you 'll return to the land comforts of a hotel or villa.
The two-day modules can be taken on any consecutive days during your holiday on Lefkas. They provide a yachting taster and can lead to you obtaining Keelboat Certification.
The Pre-Flotilla Brush-Up course is intended for those who wish to join a flotilla holiday after a break from sailing, ideal for the rusty but experienced and certificated skipper or crew.
