Flotilla Sailing > A Flotilla is a group of yachts sailing together. Flotillas give a sense of security to those new to skippering or who are sailing in an area that's new to them.
What our Clients have to Say > Thanks for the great holiday sailing in July, it was one of the best holidays we have ever been on, we both don't think we could ever settle for two weeks by a pool again. As we now have the sailing bug, we may break the unwritten rule we have of not going back to the same place twice.
Everyone expects that last minute bookings are much cheaper then booking a holiday in advance; this is normally the case but it does mean that you may not get exactly what you want, will have to settle for what is available and maybe flying 'budget class' - our Prevesa flights include meals and 20Kg luggage allowance!
We at Sunvil Sailing have always given a good discount for not only booking early but for booking directly with us and by using our on-line booking form. Depending on the destination, departure date and type of holiday package being booked this discount can be anything from 10-20%; and in this instance you will get exactly the full package you require. For Greece this will include our own flights from either Gatwick or Manchester direct to our local airport Prevesa, and our airport transfers to accommodation and/or yachts. If you know what you want for 2011 then just ask us for a quote by either phoning 0208 758 4780 or e-mailing Allan Gauci and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised with the price.
The 2011 London Boat Show at Excel is on from the 7th to the 16th January and promises to be quite a spectacular event as it is now 30% bigger and incorporates an indoor pool - as used to be the centrepoint at the old Earls Court Boat Show. To buy advance tickets at reduced prices please click on London Boat Show. In the days of the Earls Court Show we used to have a day when clients and skippers met up for a chat and a drink or two - usually spilling over to the evening after the show had closed. By popular demand we are resurrecting this practice and Friday 14th January is the day to put into your diary. Hope to see you there.
Martin Musgrove, who will be assisting me on a few days at the Boat Show, has given me some further dates for the ICC test; these are Saturday 26th February 2011 and possibly Sunday 27th. Please contact Martin Musgrove at Southwest Yachting to book your place. Remember, places are limited and it is now advisable to possess an ICC if you wish to charter a yacht in the Mediterranean.
We will have our new brochure at the Boat Show and all the new programmes and information should be on our newly designed web-site in time for the start of the show - please keep an eye on Sunvil Sailing/Activity Holidays in order to get all the latest information and offers.
This is enough from me when all you want to do is to get on and enjoy your Christmas break. I shall leave you with another illustration from Bob Cooper's very true and humouress sailing book 'On The Nose' (the second volume 'Bang on the Nose' is now available) - for more information please go to Info re On The Nose.
Happy Christmas and let us help you escape to the Sun, Sea & Sailing in 2011
For all your holiday needs for 2011 - which include a sailing element - please don't hesitate to contact me for a preferential quote or with any questions or queries that you may have on 0208 758 4780 or Allan Gauci and please feel free to forward this e-mail on to anyone you know who might be interested in sailing in the sun or making 2011 the year they learnt something new!
